该平台是在国家领导人盖达尔·阿利耶夫的倡议下建立的，旨在吸引对油气田的投资，并将里海地区转变为阿塞拜疆领导下的主要能源中心之一，随着时间的推移，为跨国能源安全项目的形成做出了贡献。如今，通过绿色能源合作伙伴关系和阿塞拜疆本身作为投资者的作用日益增强，它已经获得了一个新的维度。 

在供应冲击、运输路线变化、能源市场不确定性增加的背景下，能源安全再次成为全球政治的首要任务。这进一步增强了阿塞拜疆作为稳定可靠的能源供应国和将里海地区转变为中部走廊主要物流中心的国家的战略重要性。 

特别是阿塞拜疆共和国总统伊利哈姆·阿利耶夫先生的政策加强了我国在里海地区建立能源和数据互联互通、建设能源密集型数字经济和供应路线多样化方面的作用，为这一方向的新项目开辟了道路。在这方面，“里海-黑海-欧洲”、经纳希切万和亚美尼亚的“阿塞拜疆-土耳其-欧洲”等项目，以及“跨里海”和“东西方”绿色能源走廊和互连项目，将确保在南高加索、中亚、土耳其和通过阿塞拜疆的欧洲之间建立新的能源桥梁。这些项目构成了战略性电力供应架构，将成为满足人工智能、数据中心、数字化驱动的日益增长的电力需求的重要来源，进一步增强我国在全球能源安全中的地位。 

里海盆地出现的这些广泛的合作机会再次证实，巴库能源周将仍然是讨论联合倡议和建立长期新伙伴关系的重要平台。 

我相信，我们的互利合作将继续为我们两国的可持续发展和确保更广泛地区的能源安全做出重大贡献，而巴库能源周将继续成为建设可持续能源未来的值得信赖的对话平台。

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Baku Energy Week, traditionally held annually in Azerbaijan, which encompasses the 30th Anniversary International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition, the 13th Caspian International Power and Green Energy Exhibition, and the 30th Anniversary Baku Energy Forum. 

The International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition, first held in 1994 at the initiative of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the architect of Azerbaijan`s new energy strategy, has over the years transformed into a multifaceted platform. It has made vital contributions to energy security, sustainable development, and effective cooperation in the region.  

Our national energy strategy, successfully continued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, in accordance with the contemporary global challenges, today manifests itself as an exemplary model for the transition to an innovative and green economy in Azerbaijan, while remaining rooted in the country`s traditional energy sectors. 

Strategic energy projects implemented through Azerbaijan`s initiative and direct involvement have become an integral component of both regional and European energy security. By further expanding its export geography, Azerbaijan currently supplies natural gas to 12 countries, including 10 European states.  

Having defined its transformation into a `Clean Environment and Green Growth Country` by 2030 as one of its five national socio-economic development priorities, Azerbaijan is also taking essential steps in the renewable energy sector. Last year, our country successfully hosted COP29, marking significant achievements in ensuring global solidarity in environmental protection, energy transition, decarbonization, and combating climate change.  

As a national brand and global energy company, SOCAR successfully continues its purposeful transformation from an oil and gas enterprise into an international energy company, in line with its strategic objectives. Last year, within the framework of Baku Energy Week, SOCAR and UAE`s Masdar signed Shareholder Agreements for three renewable energy projects, and during COP29, SOCAR, Masdar and ACWA Power signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate on the production of 3.5 gigawatts of wind power in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. These joint projects make a valuable contribution to the development of Azerbaijan`s renewable energy potential, regional cooperation, and the enhancement of energy security. 

Demonstrating its strong commitment to reducing global methane emissions and its adherence to announced decarbonization targets, SOCAR joined the OGMP2.0 partnership in 2024. Furthermore, SOCAR obtained a preliminary BBB rating for 2024 from MSCI, a leading international rating agency in the field of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). This achievement reflects SOCAR`s successes in reducing carbon emissions and waste, improving public relations, supporting biodiversity, ensuring health and safety, and strengthening governance and transparency.

Baku Energy Week continues to serve as a distinguished platform for wide-ranging discussion of critical energy issues and for the exchange of expertise on the latest technologies and digital solutions, offering participants valuable opportunities for cooperation. I am confident that this year`s events, by bringing together the world`s leading energy companies, will further reinforce the role of Baku Energy Week in ensuring global energy security, addressing current challenges, and supporting the sustainable development of the energy sector.

On behalf of the Organising Committee, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 30th Anniversary Baku Energy Week — one of the region’s most prestigious and historic energy events.

30 years ago, as Azerbaijan was embarking on its journey as an independent nation, a significant milestone marked the country’s emerging role on the global energy stage. In 1994, through the initiative and leadership of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the inaugural Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition was held. This event not only became the country’s first specialized international exhibition, but also coincided with the signing of the historic “Contract of the Century”, which laid the foundation for Azerbaijan’s modern energy strategy and integration into the international energy community.

Since those early days, Baku Energy Week has grown into a trusted and respected platform for dialogue among governments, business leaders, and industry experts, making a tangible contribution to the development of global energy cooperation.

Held within the framework of the 30th Caspian International Oil & Gas Exhibition, the 13th Caspian International Power and Green Energy Exhibition, and the 30th Baku Energy Forum, this week unites global industry leaders and once again reaffirms Azerbaijan’s pivotal role in the international energy sector.

The presence of His Excellency Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, at the official opening ceremony underscores the event’s high status and its enduring strategic significance for the country.

This year, we are delighted to welcome over 200 companies from 30 countries. Germany continues its tradition of participation with a national pavilion, while new exhibitors comprise 15% of the participants. Additionally, 40% of the exhibition space is occupied by returning, leading companies.

A notable innovation this year is the introduction of a dedicated Artificial Intelligence in the Oil & Gas Industry sector, which will feature prominently in the exhibition and the business programme.

The highlight of the business programme is the Baku Energy Forum, bringing together over 800 industry leaders for high-level strategic discussions and expert knowledge sharing.

This magnificent project, now in its 30th edition, holds a special place in the history of our country's exhibition industry and in Azerbaijan’s socio-economic development. I would especially like to highlight that the “Caspian Oil and Gas” exhibition, which has been an integral part of Baku Energy Week since its inception and was initiated by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev in 1994, became the first international exhibition of independent Azerbaijan and laid a solid foundation for the development of the national exhibition industry. 

Today, Baku Energy Week is one of the most important events in the region, bringing together leading global companies, setting the key trends in the industry, and serving as Azerbaijan’s strategic window to the global energy community. The exhibitions and forums held within the framework of Baku Energy Week have become a model for the creation of other professional projects and have strengthened the event’s reputation as a modern international platform for hosting major business events in our country.
