Our close relations with dear Azerbaijan are strong in every field, including energy.
Our cooperation, crowned with infrastructure investments such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipelines, and TANAP, has not only benefited Turkey and Azerbaijan but has also made significant contributions to the energy security of the region and Europe.
The transfer of gas to be produced in Turkmenistan to Turkiye and Europe through our joint efforts, and the expansion of TANAP's capacity, are now only a matter of time.
The fruition of our efforts in these matters will undoubtedly be another joint success for Turkey and Azerbaijan. As the Turkic World, we desire to further advance and deepen our cooperation in the energy sector, just as we do in political, economic, commercial, security, military, defense industry, transportation, health, education, and cultural fields among our countries.
I also express my satisfaction with the upcoming Summit of the Turkic Council, which will be hosted by dear Azerbaijan in Shusha next month.
The completion of the modernization works of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway, which is the backbone of the Middle Corridor that brings the historic Silk Road to life on rails, and its return to full operation will have strategic importance in the development of regional transportation networks due to the 6-fold increase in freight transportation capacity.
As two countries, we strengthen our cooperation in renewable energy, new technologies, and energy source diversification.
We aim to complete the electricity export via Nakhchivan and the Iğdır-Nakhchivan natural gas pipeline projects in the near future.
We continue our efforts with determination to ensure peace and prosperity rising on the basis of permanent peace and stability in South Caucasus.
We welcome the positive developments between Azerbaijan and Armenia in recent times and once again emphasize that we see the signing of a peace agreement as a historic opportunity for the future of the region.
In this regard, I congratulate brother Azerbaijan once again for hosting the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Baku from November 11 to 22, 2024, and express our readiness to provide all kinds of support during the preparation process of the Conference.
I wish success to all participants of Baku Energy Week, where the dynamic environment and developments in the energy sector will be closely monitored, and convey my thanks to my brother, President Ilham Aliyev, with my heartfelt feelings.
