Rashad Shakarov, Group Executive Director, AMEC

Established in 2014, AMEC stands out as the sole marine engineering, consulting, and construction company in Azerbaijan, offering a comprehensive array of marine and construction services in the Caspian waters (Aktau-Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan routes).

Our services encompass inspection, warranty, and engineering across different regions. Today, we have diversified to encompass catering (restaurants) and logistics (maritime and automobile) enterprises as well.

This marks the second time that AMEC has taken part in the International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition. During the previous year, this event played a pivotal role in expanding our client base with new contacts and securing lucrative contracts.

President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the importance of prioritizing the development of the country's logistics and infrastructure. In line with this directive, we are actively engaged in organizing events such as the annual Black Sea-Caspian Logistics forum hosted in Baku. In the previous year, our company managed to successfully attract over 200 participants from 25 countries.

Furthermore, AMEC is actively pursuing the implementation of innovative technologies. Since last year, we have made significant strides towards transitioning to "green energy," which represents the energy of the future. For instance, we provide ship modifications that involve installing equipment in diesel internal combustion engines, resulting in an 80% reduction in CO2 emissions. Additionally, this technology contributes to lowering fuel consumption by up to 25%. Our project is currently being showcased at COP29.

By participating in Caspian Oil & Gas this year, we aimed to find companies engaged in new technologies and capable of showcasing global innovations. The leading countries in this field are England and the Netherlands. Unfortunately, these countries are not among the participants. I would really like to see them on this platform, as they could significantly contribute to the development of new technologies in Azerbaijan. The reality is that our entire ship fleet is outdated, making its modernization essential.

Taking this into account, AMEC will strive to attract new partners to the Azerbaijani market.

Holding specialized exhibitions is essential. Many foreign companies come to Azerbaijan to learn about the country and find business partners here. Small companies benefit from such events because they often cannot travel across countries to seek partnerships. I am pleased that three Arab companies have already expressed a desire to cooperate with us.
