1 june 2026 0000
On June 1, Baku Expo Center hosted the opening of Baku Energy Week, which объединed three major events: the 31st International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition, the 14th Caspian International Power and Green Energy Exhibition “Caspian Power,” and the 31st Baku Energy Forum. At the same time, the 23rd Caspian International Transport, Transit and Logistics Exhibition “TransLogistica Caspian” is being held within the framework of Baku Energy Week.

The most significant event of Baku Energy Week was the speech delivered by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, at the official opening ceremony of the Caspian Oil and Gas exhibition.

The Head of State emphasized that Azerbaijan’s global oil strategy is inseparably linked to the historic “Contract of the Century,” whose signing helped establish the image of the newly independent state. Highlighting the historical and international significance of this landmark event, the President congratulated the exhibition participants and wished success to everyone involved in the organization and development of the Caspian Oil and Gas project.

This was followed by the reading of welcome letters addressed to the exhibition from the President of the United States, Donald Trump, the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer.

Speakers at the opening ceremony of Baku Energy Week included Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs of the United States, Caleb Orr; Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Turkey, Alparslan Bayraktar; the United Kingdom’s Trade Commissioner for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, David Reed; Director for Energy Policy at the European Commission, Cristina Lobillo Borrero; Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, Mohamed Hamel; and the Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency.

The officials from foreign countries noted that Baku’s reputation as a major center of global energy policy continues to grow year by year. The speakers emphasized Azerbaijan’s key role in ensuring energy security both for the region and for Europe as a whole. Azerbaijan also plays an important role as a logistics hub where the transnational transport routes and energy corridors of Eurasia intersect. The prestigious energy event of the Caspian region brought together global industry leaders, the world’s leading energy companies, government institutions, investors, and international experts. The Caspian Oil and Gas and Caspian Power exhibitions are being held at the Baku Expo Center, while the Baku Energy Forum is taking place at the Baku Congress Center.

The participation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, in the opening ceremony of Baku Energy Week highlights the high status and significance of the event. Baku Energy Week has evolved as a logical continuation of the Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition, which was founded at the initiative and with the support of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and today rightfully holds the title of Azerbaijan’s first national exhibition brand. Welcome letters addressed to participants by world leaders, including the Presidents of the United States and Türkiye, as well as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, once again confirm the importance of this event for the international community. For many years, the events held within the framework of Baku Energy Week have been supported by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, while the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) acts as the General Partner. This year, 274 companies from 44 countries around the world confirmed their participation in Baku Energy Week, with 35% of them being new participants. Around 60% of the exhibitors represent foreign companies, highlighting the high level of international cooperation.

Among the participants, partners, and sponsors of the event are such prominent companies as ABB, Acwa, AZEL Systems LLC, Baku Steel Company, bp, ExxonMobil, XRG, Gap İnşaat, GL, Gran Tierra Energy, Inpex, INTI, KPMG, Kolin İnşaat, Masdar, MOL Group, SLB, Umid Babek Operating Company (UBOC), TotalEnergies, and Türkiye Petrolleri AO.

Key sectors covered by the Caspian Oil and Gas exhibition include oil and gas field development, transportation and production of oil and gas, telecommunications and IT, oil and gas refining, construction and installation works in the energy sector, innovative technologies, and more. The exhibition will also showcase innovations related to artificial intelligence, decarbonisation, drilling technologies, as well as the production and storage of petroleum and non-petroleum products. At the Caspian Power exhibition, international and local companies will present innovations and proposals related to the development and use of energy and green energy resources. Products, services, and new projects in the fields of solar energy, wind energy, geothermal energy, thermal power engineering, mechanical engineering and power equipment, electric vehicles, energy-saving technologies, and other sectors will be showcased.

The business program of Baku Energy Week includes panel discussions, innovation, case-study, foresight-case, foresight and professional sessions, presentations and signing ceremonies, as well as traditional B2B and B2G meetings.

The organisers of Baku Energy Week are Iteca Caspian and its international partners ICA Events and Caspian Event Management FZ-LLC. The event is also supported by the Azerbaijan Exhibition Organisers Association (ASTA).
